Client and Developer Report

Client Report

How did you decide what content and images to use for your site plan?

I decided on the content based on the romantic comedies I thought were the best fit for the site. I wanted the site to reflect my personal taste while still feeling fun and visually cohesive. For the images, I chose ones that matched the color scheme and overall look I wanted so the site would feel consistent and well put together.

How did you communicate with your developer? Was there any issues with communication?

I mainly communicated with my developer through email. There were a few communication issues because I did not see him in class very often, so it was sometimes harder to quickly clarify details or follow up in person. Even so, we were still able to stay in contact and move the project forward.

Did your developer meet your expectations for your site?

My developer mostly met my expectations for the site. The overall structure and design were close to what I wanted, but I noticed that some of the images I had wanted included were not added. Even with that, the site still reflected most of the vision I had for it.

What will you do differently next time you hire a team to do a project for you?

Next time, I would communicate more clearly from the beginning and make sure my site plan is more organized. I think having everything laid out in a more detailed way would make it easier for the developer to fully understand my vision and include all of the elements I want.

Lead Developer Report

How did you manage your development team and communicate the tasks for your junior devs?

I kept my team informed through email, in-class conversations, and notes left in Visual Studio. I tried to make sure everyone understood what they needed to work on and what the expectations were for each part of the project. Using multiple ways to communicate helped keep the team updated throughout the process.

How did you communicate with your client? Was there any issues?

I mainly communicated with my client in class. He was very informative and did a good job explaining what he wanted for the site. Because of that, communication went smoothly and there were no major issues.

How did you handle publishing your client's site and sharing it with the client?

I published the site through GitHub Pages and then shared the finished link with my client through email. This made it easy for the client to access the project and review the final result.

How was your experience with managing your site with GitHub?

My experience with GitHub was very good. Everything went smoothly, and it was helpful for organizing files, tracking changes, and publishing the final site. Overall, it made the development process easier to manage.

Junior Developer Report

How did you communicate with your team lead? Was there any issues?

I communicated with my team lead in class. He explained what I needed to do and also gave me helpful advice along the way. There were no issues with communication, and I always felt like I could ask questions when I needed clarification.

Did you know what was expected of you for each site?

Yes, I did. My team lead was very clear when explaining what needed to be done, which helped me understand my responsibilities for each site.

Were you able to contribute to your sites?

Yes, I feel like I contributed a lot to each site. I was able to help with the design and styling, and I put effort into making the pages look polished and match what was expected.

Did you run into any issues with GitHub and adding your changes to the sites?

No, I did not run into any major issues with GitHub when adding my changes. The process went smoothly, and I was able to make updates without much trouble.

General Experience and Reflections

What was the most challenging part of this project for you? Were you able to overcome it?

The most challenging part of this project was figuring out how to make everything look the way the client or lead developer wanted, especially when it came to alignment and styling in CSS. It took a lot of adjusting and problem-solving to get things looking right. I was able to overcome it by asking for advice, practicing, and learning through the process.

What did you enjoy most about this project?

I enjoyed working with CSS the most, especially near the end when the site was mostly finished and only needed small finishing touches. Those final adjustments made a big difference in how polished the site looked. I think I had the most fun working on the Dungeon Defenders site because I enjoyed seeing it come together visually.

What would you do differently if you could do the project again?

If I could do the project again, I would add more creative effects and communicate more consistently with my lead developer. I think doing both of those things would make the final result even stronger.

Do you feel more confident in working on real-world projects after this experience? Explain.

Yes, I do feel more confident working on real-world projects after this experience. It helped me see that when I put in the effort, ask questions, and stay patient with the process, I can solve problems and create something that looks professional and well designed.
